Profile

Al/Alex/Alexzandra (she/her) is a freelance Creative Producer and Talent Development Facilitator working across film and visual and digital art. She is the founder of Liminal Screens and was the recipient of the 2024 Women in Film & TV mentoring award, as well as the Outstanding Woman in Arts, Media, and Music award at the East Midlands Women’s Awards.

She currently works as a freelance Creative Producer overseeing the Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation programme at Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre and is also a script reader for BFI.

She has developed projects attracting support from the BFI, Innovate UK, Arts Council England, and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Her work has been featured in publications including Dazed, Variety, and The Guardian.

From 2018–2023, Alex was the BFI NETWORK Talent Executive for the Midlands, where she executive-produced 35 short films and supported the development of 19 feature projects. She later became Production Manager for Film and Video Umbrella, overseeing artist moving image productions working across galleries, cinema, and digital platforms.

Earlier in her career, she led talent development activity at Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre, lectured in Professional Practice in the UK Film Industry at De Montfort University, and produced the feature film A Dozen Summers through Poppy Jack Productions, which premiered on Netflix in 2021.

Her practice sits across development, production, exhibition, and education, with a focus on accessibility, creative equity, and building meaningful pathways for artists and filmmakers. She is particularly interested in supporting artists moving between gallery-based practice and screen storytelling, helping projects develop with clarity, integrity, and long-term ambition.
