With experience in the film industry and the wider culture sector, Liminal Screens offers support in talent development, exhibition work, and project management. Our focus is on emerging film talent. We take a personalised approach to each project, aiming to help ideas take shape and ensuring every story is handled with care, clarity, and professionalism.
Talent development facilitation

Day rate £350, with reduced rates available for longer projects (minimum one-day booking).

We design and deliver filmmaking labs and workshops for a range of experience levels. Our approach is practical, supportive, and shaped by a genuine commitment to helping people develop their skills with confidence. Sessions can focus on early-stage idea development, short-film craft, production processes, or tailored topics based on your organisation’s needs.

If you are planning a project, programme, or workshop and are looking for someone who can create a thoughtful, well-structured learning experience, we would be glad to discuss how we could support your aims.
Script reading and editing

One round of short-film development is £250 for unfunded projects and £350 for funded projects.

We work closely with emerging writers and directors to strengthen their scripts and ideas. The process is collaborative and focused on clarity, helping them express their intentions, sharpen their structure, and maintain their voice. Our goal is to support talent in a way that feels constructive, steady, and grounded in their own creative aims.
Short film editorial feedback

One round of editorial advice for a short-film edit is £36. This service is for unfunded projects only.

We will watch the current cut and provide concise notes on areas such as narrative clarity, structure, pacing, transitions, and credits. These notes are designed to support the next pass of the edit and help the filmmaker identify what is working and what may need further attention.
Project management

£350 per day, with reduced rates for longer projects (minimum one-day booking).
With experience in project management across filmmaking and the wider culture sector, we support organisations to take projects from early development through to delivery. This includes coordinating teams, managing budgets and timelines, and keeping communication clear throughout. We work with care and consistency, aiming to hold the creative intent of each project while making practical decisions that help it land well with its intended audience.
Film exhibition

£250 per day, with reductions for longer projects (minimum one-day booking).

Drawing on broad experience in the UK film sector, Liminal Screens curates short films, artist moving image, features, and themed seasons that respond to a brief with clarity and purpose. We focus on selecting work that speaks to audiences and reflects current conversations in cinema and culture. We can handle negotiations with filmmakers and distributors, ensuring the programme is achievable, well-contextualised, and coherent from an audience perspective.
Event management

£350 per day, with reduced rates for longer projects (minimum one-day booking).

Liminal Screens designs and delivers film events ranging from screenings and talks to Q&As, panels, and practical workshops. We shape events that help audiences engage with the creative or professional parts of filmmaking. We can coordinate with filmmakers, speakers, and venues, and take responsibility for smooth delivery on the day.

Taking learning from Modern Grantmaking pioneered by Gemma Bull and Tom Steinberg and the evidenced-based approach of Caroline Finnes, we can build a grantmaking programme that responds to need, where guidelines are clear and transparent, decision-making is based in integrity and grantees are supported to deliver on expected outcomes.
Film festival advice for filmmakers

We can point you in the right direction.

Whilst we can advise filmmakers on where to submit their short or feature films, we always suggest talking to our friends at Festival Formula because they are the experts in this area, and we want you and your film to get the very best advice on where to spend that hard earnt festivals budget.
